- This site helps you find information and services from all of the local councils in Cumbria.
- Q.What does "Search Cumbria" do?
- The Search Cumbria section of this web site offers you a way of finding information from all local councils in Cumbria by running a single search across their websites.
- Q.What does "Find a service" do?
- The Find a service section of this web site lets you browse through a directory of services available from this website's partners. At the moment this includes the county council and all six district councils in Cumbria. Over time this website will expand to include services from the fire and police authorities.
- Q.Who do I contact if I want to ask a question about this website?
- Questions about this website are handled by the Connected Cumbria Partnership. More details can be found on the contact page.
- Q.What do you do with any personal information I enter into pages on this website?
- Any personal information is kept securely in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998 and is not shared with any third parties. More information can be found on our Privacy Policy page .
- Q.How does the advanced search work?
- The advanced search has a number of features that help make your searches more accurate. You can search for phrases, synonyms or multiple terms, or exclude certain words from your queries. More details can be found on the Advanced Search page.
- Q.How do I limit searches to the area I live in?
- In each of the search areas there is a control labelled "Site to search", or "Select area". This lets you choose which council to limit searches to. You may want to use this to limit your search results to information from the area you live in.
- Q.What is the Connected Cumbria Partnership?
- The Connected Cumbria Partnership (CCP) is made up of the six district and borough councils, Fire, Police and the County Council, as well as other invited public sector and not for profit organisations from around the region. - Q.Where can I find contact details for the councils in Cumbria?
- Telephone, fax, web site and postal addresses for each of the partner authorities can be found on the Partner Details page.
- Q.Why should I Register?
- If you want to use the online services available via the Connected Cumbria Hub, you must register to at least the registration level required by the service you wish to use.
- Q.What is the difference between Basic and Verified Registration?
- Basic registration does not seek to verify or prove that the details you provide are the same as what we hold about you. Verified registration does do a verification check that details such as your surname, postcode and council tax number match the existing facts we know. We then verify that you are the same person by sending the Activation PIN in the post to you to confirm you are definitely at the same postal address we believe you are.
- Q.Why do I need to be Verified?
- Some online services may provide details about you to anyone who can access them, hence we must be certain for your sake that we are certain we are dealing with the person who owns those details. We must do this to comply with the various legislation governing how we hold and use your data.
- Q.Who can apply for Verified Registration?
- Verified Registration on the Connected Cumbria Hub is currently available to you if you pay your Council Tax at South Lakeland District Council. For information about the authentication processes at other Cumbrian authorities please contact the individual organisation.
