The Connected Cumbria portal provides online services to you, the citizen. Some of the services available require you to register, so that your local authority can be sure of your identity and eligibility to receive those services. Keeping your online services, safe and secure is our prime concern.
Registration may take one of two forms, Basic and Verified.
Basic Registration, enables you to select a username and password together with providing some information about yourself, which the system will hold in your profile, to help pre-fill some online forms and remember some of your preferences. This is the minimum level of registration required for many online services. Once you complete the online registration process, you will be able to immediately access services requiring Basic Registration. Basic Registration for services.
Verified Registration on the Connected Cumbria Hub is currently available to you if you pay your Council Tax at South Lakeland District Council. For information about the authentication processes at other Cumbrian authorities please contact the individual organisation.
Verified Registration, is a stronger level of registration, where we will verify some key known facts that we hold about you, including your surname, address and council tax reference. This verification process will match the values you supply to our security database and if successful we will send you an activation PIN in the post to your home address. A Verified Registration enables you to do everything a Basic Registration does and more, but you will not be able to use online services that require Verified Registration, until you have completed the activation of your registration using the PIN you will recieve in the post. Verified Registration Activation by PIN, this option should be used to complete your verified registration process, once you have received your activation PIN in the post.
Which Registration Do You Require
If you are seeking to register in order to access a specific online service, then when you require try to access the service you will be prompted for the level of authentication required either Basic or Verified, this corresponds directly to the level of registration you require.
Anyone is of course welcome to apply for basic registration at any time.
